Magic circles

Yesterday, Camilla, consort of Prince Charles, was "unveiled" as the new chancellor - number 11 -  of Aberdeen University. (BBC)

She succeeds Lord Wilson of Tillyorn.

Wilson has had a distinguished career, not only as chancellor. He has also been  "Lord High Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland the British Monarch's representative to the Assembly, in 2010 and 2011"

That's the same General Assembly who recently questioned Israel in a ten page report,  The inheritance of Abraham ? A report on the Promised Land (Crypto-Jewology):

Biblical promises about the land of Israel were never intended to be taken literally, or as applying to a defined geographical territory

The 'promised land' in the Bible is not a place, so much as a metaphor of how things ought to be among the people of God. This 'promised land' can be found - or built - anywhere.

When David was in Hong Kong, studying Mandarin, he adopted the name "Wèi Déwéi", which, phonetically, sounds rather like wee-jewi. However, it was later decided that this was a poor translation of David Wilson, thus it was amended to "Wai Yik-Shu" - a name composed of 33 strokes.

David, like Prince William and Lord Cullen (overseer of the  Lockerbie and Dunblane enquiries), is a Knight of the Thistle, and has been since 2000. We saw HM the Queen, just a couple of weeks ago, looking royal at Balmoral in her Thistle garb. (It's all mine)

Importent

Very quickly, the Olympic torch relay had extra-special visitors today, Prince Charles and Camilla making a surprise visit. From the BBC report

"Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall have visited the torch relay in Tottenham where they watched a torch kiss from the side of the street. They posed for pictures with torchbearers Scott Moorhouse and Jay Kamiraz, whose Souls of Prophecy choir is a favourite of the prince."

Eats, shoots, and leaves

Today, Easter Monday, 9/4, saw a spattering of Royal related stories.

First up Prince William, two stories about him. A giant piece of liquorice has been made by manufacturers Panda, slightly early, to commemorate his forthcoming 30th birthday on the sun drenched solstice. The other regards his skiing trip with the in-laws, apparently a belated Valentines gift given his recent military service in Argentina. Both of these dubiously connect to Scotland; given all the fuss last week about the Edinburgh Zoo pandas and their unsuccessful 2 day long mating event, plus Glasgow Rangers (Billy Boys/William of Orange) and their descent into administration on Valentines Day - the ramifications of which should be finalised early this week allowing a phoenix club to rise from the debt-strewn ashes.

The Queen also starred today, alongside Camilla, the latter being appointed a Dame Grand Cross by the former, in recognition of her many royal engagements at home and abroad over the last 7 years.

Last up is Prince Harry who apparently spent his Easter in Romania with
Transylvanian Count, Tibor Kalnoky. The mail-online takes the opportunity to remind us that "it has been claimed that Britain’s Royal Family can be traced to Vlad the Impaler, the real-life ruler who inspired Transylvania’s Count Dracula vampire legend", although it does not say who made the claim. The further reading box to the right contains a text, From Transylvania to Tunbridge Wells, in which the author claims, amongst many other things, that the whole mythos of the vampire stems from the consumption of menstrual blood in order to gain "second sight". (There's allsorts in there). Which I suppose, scarily, takes us back to the Edinburgh Zoo pandas in a round-about sort of way.

You just can't keep him down

Wills hits the headlines again today, nothing to do with Kate, but rather in his helicopter pilot capacity, apparently rescuing a heart attack victim from Snowdon, Wales' highest mountain.

cheers

BBC report.

See also Gas Masks re his first "rescue", additionally topical given the Charles Camilla Queen stuff over the last few days, indeed Prime Minister, David Cameron, has entered the stage:
Cameron :"Too early to say if Camilla could be Queen"
