The Mexican President, Felipe Calderon, today began a four day visit to the UK with a ceremonial welcome by the Queen.
As is the norm, gifts were exchanged between the parties, with Mr. Calderon receiving a first edition leather bound copy of George Orwell's 1984 from Her Majesty.
He also met Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, prior to the global reformation G20 summit as we note from the BBC :
At a press conference Mr Brown said: "The success of emerging economies is the key to all our future prosperity."
Mr Calderon said Mexico was "convinced global problems need global solutions".
"I would like to recognise the wonderful work that Prime Minister Gordon Brown has done in the pursuit of an international consensus which is so badly needed to confront this global crisis," he said.

"See, Senor Calderon: he wrote about us but we did it anyway. Hell, we even used the book as a template. Isn't that lovely?"
if this keeps up (and it will) they'll have to excise 'irony' from all the dictionaries

Apparently, 1984 is the book most lied about being read by the UK population Ray.
