From Mars to a firebird (and back again)

Mars, planet of war, seems to be hot at the moment.

We had the deep fried Mars bar story; that if a man consumes one of the delicacies it slows the blood flow to the brain within minutes, whereas with a lady, there is little effect (The Metro).

Then there was the news that two old American B movies are to be shown in Inverness' Eden Court. One of them is titled Devil Girl from Mars and concerns a Martian lady who has come to Scotland to select new, male, breeding stock for the red planet.

Space oddities : Scotland's influence on 50's US B movies

Whilst yesterday, in my very part time role as school parent helper, I went to the cinema with the Primary 7s to see a new BBC film titled, The Ten Pieces, which has been created, allegedly, to foster a love of classical music in youngsters. It was quite symbolic, I thought, and extremely loud.

A recent comment re children and education Crossing the line :

Are they taking humanity into nothingness?
A completely blank slate.

The movie is basically ten inter-connected short stories, each revolving around a famous classical music piece :
  • John Adams: Short Ride in a Fast Machine
  • Beethoven: Symphony No. 5 (1st movement)
  • Britten: 'Storm' Interlude from 'Peter Grimes'
  • Grieg: In the Hall of the Mountain King from 'Peer Gynt'
  • Handel: Zadok the Priest
  • Holst: Mars from 'The Planets'
  • Anna Meredith: Connect It
  • Mozart: Horn Concerto No. 4 (3rd movement)
  • Mussorgsky: A Night on the Bare Mountain
  • Stravinsky: The Firebird – suite (1911) (Finale)
That's not the order they appear in though, as the first was Holst's Mars from "The Planets". We were reminded very early on about the connection with war. Next was, In the Hall of the Mountain King, followed by, A Night on the Bare Mountain. It was  the end though that caught my attention, the second last "piece" being Anna Meredith's, Connect It.

Now remember that the whole point of the movie is to allegedly foster a love of classical music. Scottish Anna is not a classical musician per se. Anna doesn't use instruments, but rather "uses sounds made up of our movements and our voices". Anna seems to able to collect sounds electronically and manufacture music that way, thus "we (humans) are the instruments". "It is like energy being passed on from one person to the other". And for the classic : " Handel, Mozart and Beethoven are all incredible composers but music is a living art form and I've discovered it's something we can all be part of".

At this point we cut to a warehouse. Numerous bodies lay on the floor, as if they were dead. Then they rose, as one, and performed Anna's, Connect. (BBC iPlayer)

The last piece was Stravinsky's, The Firebird. Here we saw a blazing bird which reminded me of the phoenix at the London Olympic closing ceremony, and at Glastonbury, where it rose from the Pyramid Stage as the Rolling Stones played Sympathy for the Devil. This firebird flew up to the Sun then, by magic, returned to the very start of the show, and thus the planet Mars.

One wonders if it was allegorical.

Keeping an eye on the ball

Yesterday, 11/9 or 9/11, saw a trilogy of soccer football stories to keep us dribbling down the yellow brick road to Olympic XXX London 2012; dribbling along towards the birth of a new golden age for those who empower us - all under the guise of a collective pursuit of advancement for the human species - a new age state-controlled "oneness" which appears to disregard the individual in it's competitive, ultra-striving, Apprentice style agenda.

The first tale, Prime Minister Gordon Brown, sympathising with supporters of the United Kingdom's national teams after the World Cup qualifying games were only broadcast live on a pay-as-you-view channel called Setanta, no deal being agreed between it and our "free channels", BBC and ITN. The BBC story is here.

The second, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who spoke of his fears that money has taken over the game, comments apparently prompted by the fact that Brazilian international Robinho, when giving a press conference after signing a multi million pound deal with Manchester City, appeared to be under the impression that he signed for another club, namely Chelsea. As we read from the BBC:

The Brazil international had appeared set to move to Stamford Bridge until City hijacked the deal at the last minute. And Robinho appeared to have been as confused as anyone when he mistakenly referred to his new club as Chelsea in a news conference shortly after signing for City. Wenger said: "What is worrying for me is that a player signs somewhere and then the next day he does not even know where he has signed. You cannot say that is a good trend.

The third, and therefore the hat trick in soccer football parlance, was basically pure nonsense, but still somehow made BBC headline news (make up your own minds as to why), the banner read - Royal mix-up over lager delivery - the story of how a brewery delivery lorry driver carrying 12 barrels of lager (1056 pints, 33 x 32 ) to a public house called the The Windsor Castle mistakenly attempted to deliver the cargo to the Queen's residence and was turned away, eventually reaching the correct destination some three hours later, but still (thankfully) in time for England's football match against Croatia.

2012, you smell it ?

Double A side ?

Madonna and her 27 date forthcoming world tour, 9 in Europe, 18 in USA:

The 49-year-old singer is to kick it off at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on August 23. She will also play at Wembley Stadium on September 11.

From wiki on the old Wembley, replaced in 2007.

"The stadium's distinctive Twin Towers became its trademark. Also well known were the thirty nine steps needed to be climbed to reach the Royal box and collect a trophy (and winners'/losers' medals)"

pls see here for 27

A Tale of Two Williams

With thoughts crowding towards a new global order for humanity spearheaded by a living global god-king figure - all connected with the 2012 London Olympics and disguised as a new Europe - a pair of stories from Monday 28/04/2008 stuck in my futuristically orientated mind. The first, economic and from America, where we saw the takeover of Wrigley's the gum makers by Mars Incorporated; the second, a flying
visit to Afghanistan by Prince William.

"Now for those of you are not familiar with our strange ways of within the craft, when somebody is admitted they are called the Candidate."

From a Dr. Lomas lecture.

Starting with Wrigley's, we read that it was 01/04/1891 when William Wrigley Junior founded his namesake company, originally selling soap and suchlike before utilising his now infamous gum as a free gimmick in order to entice customers to buy his baking powder. The world went mad for it over time, as such now sold in more than 180 countries.

Mars, an extremely secretive billionaire family owned business with headquarters in McLean, Virginia, paid 23 billion for Wrigley's in an "all cash deal". From wikipedia :

The European Division, known as Masterfoods Europe, is headquartered in Brussels, Belgium. The name Masterfoods originally came from a food business founded by the Lewis family in 1949 in Australia and acquired by Mars in 1967.

From the same source, topic freemasonry :

"There is no degree in Freemasonry higher than that of Master Mason, the Third Degree"

From my recent post Black Magick, regarding the symbolism behind the recent Olympic torch ceremony in London:

"And of the meaning of Lewis?: Seemingly the son of a mason - but you need to see here for a more accurate angle on what exactly is being ceremoniously "built" around us."

From Michael Tsarion's Irish Origins of Civilisation we glean far, far more:

"The Brussels headquarters of the EU is on the 13th Floor of the building housing its president and his staff(staff=standard). The number 13 is the cipher for Akhenaton and his Cult."

The New World Order of the Atonists is to replace the Old Order over which they reigned in the Egypt of old.

Moving to Prince William's overseas visit, from the Guardian we read:

Prince William met frontline British troops in Afghanistan on Monday in a secret three-hour visit, Clarence House has confirmed.

The prince spent his time at Kandahar airfield in southern Afghanistan meeting members of the 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment, known as 3 Para.

"The prince, 25, known in the RAF as Flying Officer Wales, is coming to the end of a four-month attachment with the air force that has taught him about the service's ethos, traditions and military role as he prepares to eventually become the forces' ceremonial commander in chief as king."

Again, ultra-recently, from the BBC and their Olympic torch diary:

Everest is at last in sight, and we should reach it sometime on Monday.

Think Wills took a detour ?
