Stoking the phoenix fire (The fall and rise of Binnie)

Back in February I noted the passing away of Arthur Binnie. Arthur was the BBC reporter who, back on 11th April 1951, landed his exclusive "big scoop", the re-appearance of the Stone of Destiny within a stonemason's barrow at Arbroath Abbey some 108 days after it's repatriation from Westminster on Christmas Day 1950.  108 as a symbolic number carries some currency in certain circles thus I shall return to both it and the name Binnie, shortly - with a synchronous mindset and an added dash of Harry Potter magic.

Last Saturday saw a football cup final. Glasgow Rangers versus Hibernian at Hampden Park. Hibs were the bookmaker's underdogs and had not won the cup for 114 years. The team which ended victorious would play in the cash rich European game(s) next season, so much was riding on the outcome especially given Rangers recent phoenix resurrection after their cash flow problems. I should probably note here that (Protestant/Queen loyal) Rangers are allegedly "bankrolled" by a David King, their now saviour after a spell of Mr. Green and Mr. Whyte: colours which their supporters despise.

Hibs started well with an early goal by Anthony Stokes who is on loan from Celtic, Rangers bitter rivals. Later though, Rangers equalised and then took the lead. The Hibs fans were beginning to lose heart however, with ten or so minutes to go, Stokes rose like an enchanted cobra to head in a goal and make it two-all. In early injury time David Gray emulated Stokes, another venemous header striking in, sending the spellbound Hibs supporters into a collective madness. Glorious.  Three - two. Their hoodoo was broken, the curse lifted.

As the final whistle blew, hoards of Hibees descended the stands and encroached the pitch. Unusually, the police were conspicuous by their absence. Some supporters raced towards the Rangers fans to celebrate and goad, the result being various skirmishes on the pitch and spilt blood, both Orange and Fenian, albeit not in quantities requiring wellington boots. The crossbar was destroyed and turf ripped up as souvenirs. The police soon arrived in numbers and with their truncheons out, order was quickly restored.

Mainstream and social media went into overdrive. Rangers issued statements deploring the Hibs' fans conduct. By Tuesday a "rogues gallery" of most wanted had been published. One individual missing was Greg Binnie - he had apparently already been named and shamed on facebook and had quickly received threats. He also received his very own article in the redtops and was the first to appear in court in relation to the trouble (here). He pled guilty and will be sentenced later.  The game took place 108 days after Arthur Binnie's passing on 3rd February (3/2)

We learned more about ginger Greg during the week. He is young, a sports student, and worked as a squash coach at the prestigious George Watson's School in Edinburgh. George Watson was a philanthropist. He is buried in Greyfriars Kirkyard adjacent to another philanthropist's school, George Heriot. Some claim that JK Rowling based Hogwarts on George Heriots School. Potterites still frequent Greyfriars to visit the gravestone of a Thomas Riddell which they believe was the inspiration for Dark Lord Voltermort. I have written before about royal goldsmith George Heriot with particular reference to the Oasis singer, six-toed Liam Gallacher and his visit to the pub named after George where he announced Edinburgh to be "Beautiful, amazing, f****** biblical, in fact. Words can't explain it..." Magical Scotland

We have still to see what the fall-out will be over this matter. Rangers, it's fair to say, being the establishment club have friends in high places. Indeed their friends are so high that the aforementioned David King was approved a fit and proper director of the club despite his numerous convictions for tax evasion in South Africa. Apparently a judge described him as a "glib and shameless liar"; one presumes Mr. King was under oath at the  time.

To close, I'll just cut and paste from my original Arthur Binnie post with a little addition:

"It is certain that onomatology, or the science of names, forms a very interesting part of the investigations of the higher Masonry, and it is only in this way that any connection can be created between the two sciences". (Encyclopedia of Freemasonry)

Arthur is a common masculine given name. Its etymology is disputed, but its popularity derives from its being the name of the legendary hero King Arthur.

Binnie : "Surnames regarded as septs (sub-branch) of the MacBain/MacBean clan include Bain, Bean, Beattie, Binnie, Macbeath, Macbeth, Macbheath, Macilvain and MacVean." Rampant Scotland

MacBain Family Crest

Gregory is a masculine first name. It is derived from the Latin name "Gregorius," which was from the late Greek name "Γρηγόριος" (Grēgorios) meaning "watchful, alert" (derived from Greek "γρηγoρεῖν" "grēgorein" meaning "to watch").

It could well be that all Kings are cut from the same cloth, it's worth keeping an eye on.

The Centaur Spot

Up in the North East of Scotland sits the Findhorn Foundation, originally formed by various individuals, some of whom believed they could contact extraterrestrials via telepathy. They grew "giant" vegetables which they attributed to "deva benevolence", subscribed to the works of Steiner and Alice Bailey, and generally dabbled in the occult.  Note that deva translates to nature spirit.

A major influence on one of the founders, a Rosicrucian named Peter Caddy, was Robert Ogilvie Crombie, a scientist and writer born in Edinburgh in 1899. Today's Daily Record tells of how Robert, prior to the birth of Findhorn, met a faun called Kurmos in Edinburgh's Royal Botanic Garden, then was introduced to a magical spirit called Pan with subsequent meetings with otherworld entities including  a centaur :

Crombie says he was welcomed into a world of mystical creatures, including fairies, and he reported their conversations at length.

In one encounter with Pan, he said they talked about people being jealous of his abilities.
Pan is reported to have told him: “Communicating with my subjects is not a garden game for the odd half-hour when there is nothing better to do. It is of vital importance for the  survival of mankind.

“Unless humanity comes to realise the dangerous stupidity of outraging nature and stops the ever-increasing rate of pollution it will ultimately destroy itself

Paranormal "experts" are set to descend upon the gardens over the next two weeks in order to try to explain Robert's experiences and check for "strange energies" by means of dowsing, something I wrote about very recently.

Occultist Aleister Crowley was fond of Scotland and her "energies", he considered Boleskine a focal point for the "new" Age.

Prince Charles is a keen gardener and oft follows the biodynamic, Steiner influenced, method of practice. One might even suggest he has communicated with Ogilvie's Pan or one of his descendants. Certainly we know that Peter Caddy's wife, Eileen, a co-founder of the "Vatican of the New Age" as Findhorn is also known, has received an MBE from Charles' mother.

Before the Botanical Gardens moved to their current location they were based at Holyrood, close to the Royal Palace, the chapel and the modern Scottish Parliament. One wonders if energies abound there too.

Prior to the establishment of the Royal Botanical Gardens, there was most likely another in Edinburgh - "one of the earliest in the United Kingdom" - on the site of Heriots Hospital (here). It could well be that plants were propagated from that source initially, to stock the new Royal one.

Kabbalism along with alchemy (Hermetic
Art) is an important part of Masonic sorcery.
In the science of symbolism the pentagram is called
'holy and mysterious'. If the pentagram has one
point up it is representative of the good principle
(Yetzer ha-Tov), if it has two points up it indicates
the sinister principle (Yetzer ha-Ra).

Heriots Hospital, which opened on the 11th April 1659 (see here for more on that highly auspicious 101st day of the year) is now George Heriots School. Some claim that J.K. Rowling based "her" Hogwarts School on it. I wrote more about it in Magical Scotland, including that when the group Oasis visited Edinburgh, Liam went to a bar named after royal goldsmith Heriot and described the city as ""Beautiful, amazing, f****** biblical, in fact. Words can't explain it..."

Wolfish, six toed Liam's "symbolic" "Pretty Green" "clothing"

Next door to Heriots is Greyfriars, where the Covenanters - the Presbyterian "enemies" of the Catholic supporting Jacobites, who took their name from the Biblical covenant sworn by Israel in the Old Testament and nothing to do with a witches' coven - signed their declaration in 1638 in front of the pulpit. 41 years later, 1200 Covenanters were imprisoned in the kirkyard pending trial. From wiki, History of the Jews in Scotland:

Reverence for the tenets of Judaism was a hallmark of 17th century fundamentalist Protestant thinking when the National Covenant of 1638 seemed to set the seal on the belief that by returning to the "true religion" at the Reformation the Scots had become a chosen people.

Scotland, whom our Lord took off the dunghill and out of hell and made a fair bride to Himself... He will embrace both [of] us, the little young sister, and the elder sister, the Church of the Jews. (Rev. Samuel Rutherford)

Greyfriars is most popular with tourists, due to both the Bobby-dog story and recently, the Harry Potter stories. Some Potterites believe a gravestone there for a Thomas Riddell is the inspiration for Rowling's Lord Voltermort. One wonders if all these visitors effect any unseen "energies".

Alternative historian and eccentric,  Comyns Beaumont, claimed in his 1947 book, Britain; The Key to World History, that Edinburgh was the Biblical Jerusalem. (here)

The (freemasonic) Grand Lodge of Scotland notes that Edinburgh's New Town is allegedly structured on the same pi related esoteric principles as the Temple of Solomon and the Great Pyramid.

Comyns utilsed the image below in his aforementioned book. It shows Edinburgh Castle, which today contains the alleged Stone of Destiny, from Greyfriars Churchyard. It's on that very stone that Prince William will kick off in his role as world King.

When Harry meets Billy

Just continuing in the same vein as last post; Commonwealth baton relay and Fort William, with an added sprinkling of Harry Potter magick.

Today's (7/7) BBC tells of how, on 12th July, the baton is due to "take in the Glenfinnan Viaduct", one of the most "iconic locations from the Harry Potter films". In addition, it will conclude it's journey that day at recent earthquake ridden, Fort William. (BBC News)

In case the reader needs put in the picture, the 12th July is known as the "Glorious 12th" and is celebrated by Orangemen (Protestants) in respect of a famous victory by William of Orange AKA King Billy over Catholic King, James 2nd, at the alleged Battle of the Boyne.

From wiki :

Attempts have recently been made to downplay the political aspects of the marches and present the Twelfth as a cultural, family-friendly event at which tourists are welcome, but violence continues.

The top image is from last Saturday in Glasgow, at an Orange Order march. Scotland has a fairly lengthy marching season. (here)

From wiki re Fort William :

The town grew up as a settlement next to a fort constructed to control the population after Oliver Cromwell's invasion during the English Civil War, and then to suppress the Jacobite uprisings of the 18th century. The fort was named "Fort William"' after William of Orange, and the settlement that grew around it was called "Maryburgh", after his wife.

Harry Potter has "connections" with the Protestant - Catholic historical divide and conquer. From my recent post Growling at Rowling :

Some food for thought is that many Potter fans believe that "Voldermort's" grave is located in Edinburgh's Greyfriars Churchyard (Dark Arts). ..

Reverence for the tenets of Judaism was a hallmark of 17th century fundamentalist Protestant thinking when the National Covenant of 1638 seemed to set the seal on the belief that by returning to the "true religion" at the Reformation the Scots had become a chosen people
The National Covenant was signed at Greyfriars.

Note too that William and Mary were crowned joint sovereigns of the United Kingdom on 11th April, the 101st day of the year. I have written about the date many times, and it's "coincidences" regarding the Stone of Destiny, the Dunblane massacre, Prince William and his wings etc. (It's a kind of magick)

On Saturday, Prince William, Harry, and Kate launched the 101st Tour de France.

Whilst I cannot really let William of Orange go without a nod to the Glencoe Massacre (a blood sacrifice) and occultist, friend of royalty, Jimmy Savile's, choice of Scottish abode.

Growling at Rowling

The writings on the wall
Harry Potter creator, J.K. Rowling, has waded into the Scottish independence cavalcade.

We touched on  reverse psychology propaganda  in the post Childsplay.

On Wednesday, 11/6, it was announced that Rowling, has given a million pounds to the anti-Scottish independence (Better Together) campaign. She could have kept it quiet, one imagines, however she detailed her rationale for the donation on her website (mail on line):

However, I also know that there is a fringe of Nationalists who like to demonise anyone who is not blindly and unquestionably pro-independence and I suspect, notwithstanding the fact that I’ve lived in Scotland for 21 years and plan  to remain here for the rest of my life, that they might judge me ‘insufficiently Scottish’ to have a valid view.
It is true that I was born in the West Country and grew up on the Welsh border and, while I have Scottish blood on my mother’s side, I also have English, French and Flemish ancestry.
However, when people try to make this debate about the purity of your lineage, things start getting a little Death Eaterish for my taste.
Do as though wilt be the whole of the law
I was not sure what Death Eaterish meant, however the BBC have kindly compiled an article about Wednesday's event - What does "Death Eaterish" mean:

"She likened some of them to the scariest characters in her books, saying that, when trying to "make this debate about the purity of your lineage, things start getting a little Death Eaterish for my taste".

The Death Eaters are a group of wizards described as "pure-blood" supremacists led by the evil Lord Voldemort, Potter's arch-enemy. They are contemptuous of "half-bloods" and human "muggles".

The inner circle of Death Eaters - who behave without regard to wizarding law - have dark marks emblazoned on their arm, denoting membership.

"To use the D-word is pretty much as low as you can go in the Harry Potter fandom," says expert John Granger. "It will really hit a nerve with JK Rowling's fans. She is trying to get back at the people who say she's not really Scottish and shouldn't intervene in the debate."

The thing being is that I cannot recall Rowling voicing an opinion on Scottish independence  prior to her "donation", thus looking again at the segment of her rationale as above, when she writes "suspect.... that they might judge me insufficiently Scottish", and then follows up with "when people try to make this debate about the purity of your lineage", the point is they have not. It is Rowling who has brought to life the "blood purity/ Death Eaterish angle", no one else.

Apparently, poor JK received on-line dogs abuse for her slant.

Remember though that the Death Eaters were led by Lord Voldermort. According to wiki, they try to create a "new order" through the "Ministry of Magic". Their main enemy is the "Order of the Phoenix".

Remember too, that many Scottish people would find Rowling's comments distasteful. They might class them in the same vein as those of the fairly unlikeable, Hillary Clinton, who has expressed a desire that the Scots vote no.

Scott Lucas, professor of American Studies at Birmingham University, seems to agree with myself in terms of the reverse-psychology being played out here. From today's BBC :

Hillary Clinton doesn't make off-the-cuff remarks, and she certainly doesn't do so on foreign affairs.

The fact that President Obama, and indeed other European politicians, have come out vocally against Scottish independence really points to a coordination among policy-makers on both sides of the Atlantic who basically are saying Scotland should remain part of Britain and, in turn, part of the EU.

I think this is a concerted campaign. I think it's one that's been discussed by the White House, I think it's been discussed by Number 10 and by other European capitals to try to deter Scottish voters from breaking away from Britain...

It will be interesting to see how Scottish voters react, because my perception is that - far from pushing Scottish voters to say 'we have to stay part of Britain' - I think they may assert their own, as it were, independence from these politicians by voting in the referendum precisely to come out of Britain.

Which indeed is the game plan. An independent Scotland as the symbolic cornerstone of a New World Order; an act of alchemical magick.
Pottering @ Greyfriars
Some food for thought is that many Potter fans believe that "Voldermort's" grave is located in Edinburgh's Greyfriars Churchyard (Dark Arts). From wiki - History of the Jews in Scotland :

Like many Christian nations, medieval Scots claimed a Biblical connection. The Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) appealed to Pope John XXII for recognition of Scotland's status as an independent, sovereign state and asserted its right to use military action when considered unjustly attacked. It was sealed by fifty-one magnates and nobles. It is still periodically referenced by British Israelitists, because the text asserts that in the eyes of God:

cum non sit Pondus nec distinccio Judei et Greci, Scoti aut Anglici
(there is neither bias nor difference between Jew or Greek, Scot or English)
Reverence for the tenets of Judaism was a hallmark of 17th century fundamentalist Protestant thinking when the National Covenant of 1638 seemed to set the seal on the belief that by returning to the "true religion" at the Reformation the Scots had become a chosen people

The National Covenant was signed at Greyfriars.

And from the Scottish Kirk (Protestant/Presbyterian Church) Crypto jew-ology:

Biblical promises about the land of Israel were never intended to be taken literally, or as applying to a defined geographical territory...
The 'promised land' in the Bible is not a place, so much as a metaphor of how things ought to be among the people of God. This 'promised land' can be found - or built - anywhere...

Back in the 1940's a "conspiracy theorist" called Comyns Beaumont proposed that Edinburgh was the "real" Jerusalem and that Edinburgh Castle fitted the Biblical description of Zion and the Citadel. Allegedly, the rights to his books are owned/controlled by the CIA. One wonders who controls them.

Last Orders

Statue of Liberty - a masonic icon
I have noted David Beckham at least a couple of times this year already, firstly in Metrosexual Quarterly, when I noted his "purchase" of Damien Hirst's butterfly Daddy's Girl artwork, and the corresponding GQ front page featuring a reptile-eyed Rihanna, photographed by Hirst, with reference to "ALL HAIL THE NEW "NEW MAN !", and the "luminati".

The second post, from the day before the above - Eye-cons - featured Beckham's visit on 10/1 to twin Diago whisky plants in Scotland with his agent, whilst highlighting the designer Ralph Lauren's niece, Jenny, her out-of-order behaviour on a plane and subsequent court appearance in Ireland. The court was held in a public house, named Brian Boru after a ancient High King of Ireland.

Yesterday, 123 days later, saw Beckham revisit Scotland, this time Bar 99 in Edinburgh, where he was allegedly filming an advert for Haig Club Whisky. Bar 99 is located in Hanover Street in the New Town, the street named after the Hanoverian "royal family", the New Town built as part of the Scottish Enlightenment. Crowds gathered to watch the global mega-star. Edinburgh Evening News. Beckham was apparently staying in the Balmoral Hotel, a place with magickal connections given J.K. Rowling completed her Harry Potter series there, signing a bust of Hermes in Room 652, on 11/1/2007.

Yesterday, in Windsor Castle, Prince William was attending a "glittering gala dinner" in respect of The Royal Marsden Hospital. Wills met a Harry Potter star as well as dimpled Kate Moss, who we noted re "her" David Bowie - Brit Awards -  "anti- Scottish-independence" speech in The Starman and Scottish independence. The event was attended by 222 individuals according to the mail on line, and was sponsored by Ralph Lauren. Note that Kate's body language would appear to indicate she is going through a distressful moment. Which is understandable.

Fantastic beast
Also yesterday it was announced that the first instalment of Rowling's, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is to be released on 18th November 2016.

All the world's a stage..

In the last post I noted the portrayal of celebrities, utilising the "media", by a shadowy elite (Illuminati?)  to influence the "masses", perhaps sometimes on an unconscious basis using symbols; whilst previous recent posts have touched on the use of the letter X, for example in the skull and crossbones.

A story from today's mail on line (here) perhaps encapsulates both. It concerns Kayne West and his fiancee, Kim Kardashian, who were allegedly racially abused by an 18 year old whilst out shopping for furniture. Apparently, the teenager held open a door for Kim whilst screaming "F**k you bitch, shut up n***er lover, stupid slut". Kayne, enraged, then chased the boy and punched him. The image of the boy is up top, note the royal crown topped skull and crossbones logo of the grey T shirt and indeed the cross in the background. The image below is of Kayne, resplendent in YEEZUS T shirt, which depicts a sort of Scooby-Doo type scary ghost, maybe the grim reaper, rising from a skull. Both images are from the source.

Yeezus is Kayne's sixth album, released on 18th June last year.

Allegedly, all masonic lodges contain a human skull. Some suggest that this is down to a Knights Templar legend concerning a Lord Sidon :

"A great lady of Maraclea was loved by a Templar, A Lord of Sidon; but she died in her youth, and on the night of her burial, this wicked lover crept to the grave, dug up her body and violated it. Then a voice from the void bade him return in nine months time for he would find a son. He obeyed the injunction and at the appointed time he opened the grave again and found a head on the leg bones of the skeleton (skull and crossbones). The same voice bade him ‘guard it Well, for it would be the giver of all good things’, and so he carried it away with him. It became his protecting genius, and he was able to defeat his enemies by merely showing them the magic head. In due course, it passed to the possession of the order. "
Which may or may not be the case. It could be allegorical as many myths are, perhaps referring to necromancy.

Years ago, I heard via pubtalk - admittedly not always the best source - that Jimmy Savile OBE was a necrophiliac. I thought little about it till Jimmy was buried in a golden coffin, encased in concrete and set at a 45 degree angle.

French fashion label, Brooklyn we go hard, utilise Savile's Glencoe residence for fashion shoot
Meanwhile to close, I recently noted that Prince William was to begin  a short course in agriculture at Cambridge University. It started last Monday. Last night, "revolutionary" Russell Brand addressed the Union at Cambridge, calling them "Harry Potter poofs" (here). A couple of images of Brand follow, note the "illuminated" light bulb and Brand's woolen pullover decoration.

Dark Arts

In my last post I noted that some American voters were allegedly "brainwashed" via the Harry Potter series of novels into voting for Obama as president. Apparently the texts contain a moral message, which played a "small, but not insignificant role" in voters minds.

It was reported recently that Harry Potter fans are flocking to Edinburgh's Greyfriars Churchyard - home of the infamous Bobby dog - as they believe that the gravestone of a Thomas Riddell, who died in 1806, was the inspiration for Dark Lord Voltermort. Apparently, notes and suchlike are being left by the Potterites. Edinburgh Evening News

Riddell's grave
Meanwhile, three teenage American girls have arrived in London in order to exorcise "evil spirits" which they claim have been conjured up by Harry Potter devotees reciting the spells contained within the books which they allege come from "real" witchcraft. The young ladies maintain that Great Britain is a hotbed of occult activity which can be sourced back to pagan times, the Potter series being the icing on a centuries-long-baking cake. (mail on line)

Today's BBC questions Are we close to making human mind control a reality ? It seems that a pair of scientists have worked out a way to communicate almost telepathically when playing a computer game; one wearing a "cap with wires coming out of it" simply thinks when to fire a cannon, and this is somehow relayed via the Internet to the other who indeed does press the button. Rather than calling this "mind control" the scientists have adopted the moniker "human to human brain interface". The article notes of "parallels with the evil Voldemort's Imperius curse, used to manipulate people in the Harry Potter stories".

Voldemort - from Olympics
It could perhaps be said that the top two stories referred to here, the vote brainwashing and the note leaving themselves point to some type of thought control, although it is surely not just Harry Potter who has the power to influence people and their behaviour.

Some people believe that many celebrities have undergone some type of mind conditioning.

Back in the 1940's, a chap called Comyns Beaumont in a book called Britain, the Key to World History, claimed that Edinburgh was the Real Jerusalem and that Edinburgh Castle fits the Biblical description of Zion and the Citadel. here and, more in depth, here.

Edinburgh Castle is the current home of the alleged Stone of Destiny, which some claim is the Biblical Joseph's pillow stone. It is extremely likely that the next King will be crowned upon it, as is ritual.

The image below is from Beaumont's book, showing Edinburgh Castle from "Voldemort's"  Greyfriars Churchyard.

It's a kind of magic ?

Kate, immaculate in black and white

Yesterday, the day after the full moon, saw Prince William, pregnant Kate, and Harry attend the inauguration of the Warner Bros Studios in Hertfordshire. There they fooled around with Harry Potter wands and Wills got to sit in the Dark Knight Batmobile. (mail on line)

Wills noted during his "formal opening speech" that "To be honest, I’m over the moon just to have seen the real Batmobile and Batpod – you don’t do baby seats for those cars, do you, by any chance"

I've written about Aleister Crowley recently. Crowley believed, probably quite rightly, that "Every nursery rime contains profound magical secrets which are open to every one who has made a study of the correspondences of the Holy Qabalah. To puzzle out an imaginary meaning for this "nonsense" sets one thinking of the mysteries". He actually wrote a whole chapter in one of his books (here) which dissected various rhymes and his interpretation of their allegorical meanings.

It got me thinking about Wills' comment, what with all the Harry Potter magic, but, unfortunately, Aleister never covered Hey Diddle Diddle, The Cat and the Fiddle, The Cow jumped over the Moon, The little dog laughed to see such Craft, And the Dish ran away with the Spoon.

Others though believe that Hey Diddle is "connected with Hathor worship; that it refers to various constellations (Taurus, Canis minor, the Big Dipper etc.); that it describes the Flight from Egypt...". Though others would say that was nonsense.  (wiki)

Black and white cow
Hathor is an ancient Egyptian goddess who personified the the principles of joy, feminine love, and motherhood. She was one of the most important and popular deities throughout the history of Ancient Egypt. Hathor was worshipped by Royalty and common people alike....In other roles she was  goddess of music, dance, foreign lands and fertility who helped women in childbirth...Hathor's identity as a cow, perhaps depicted as such on the Narmer Palette, meant that she became identified with another ancient cow-goddess of fertility, Bat. (wiki)

It surely is a mystery.

Eye-land life

Whilst over in the USA all eyes were on the Mercedes Benz superdome, Destiny's Child, and the "magical" Super Bowl, here in Scotland another Mercedes hit the the national headlines - astounding really - after being left on an "island of asphalt" by workers busy refurnishing the Edinburgh Waverly train station car park. (BBC)

Note that Waverley car park sits below the Balmoral Hotel, a place linked to Harry Potter, given Rowling completed the occult series there on 11th January 2007, in room 652, signing a bust of Hermes in the process. The hotel too has another magical connection, the TV programme Shoebox Zoo and the alchemist/wizard Michael Scot. (wiki).

Whilst last Wednesday we saw Prince Charles & Camilla at King's Cross Station in London, visiting the "Harry Potter platform" 9 and three quarters. They were not on route to Scotland and their own Balmoral, rather just on a tour, however Potter's Muggles would indeed use the platform on their trips up North.

One wonders if maybe the allegedly abandoned yet powerful Mercedes, sitting on an island, is thus symbolic.
