Today's Daily Mail reports of how British Prime Minister, David Cameron, has issued an "overtly religious Christmas message", quoting from the Gospel of St. John, praising Jesus as a lightbringer - "the light of all mankind" - and a Prince of Peace, whilst at the same time praising the armed forces.
All that talk of light must have rubbed off on the Queen - head of the armed forces - as we coincidentally see her in 3D sunglasses, a nod to tomorrow's annual Christmas message.
cheers (& Merry Christmas)

Martin thanks, and to you, belatedly.
ReplyDeleteCheers Aang, thanks for the inspiration.
Cheers Anon2, follow exactly what you are saying. Think there is more to Jencks ?, I have it from a reliable source that he uses no plans etc. and visits the sites of his work every so often saying, " a bit more here, a bit more there", in terms of tonnes of earth.
He seems to be fairly well connected.
cheers
Fairly well connected ?
ReplyDeleteThey all are, aren't they !
I hadn't heard of him [Jencks] before but it's dubious whether he does know -usually these artists take their instructions from some other source....but i'm not ruling out that he does know a lot from being a member of a 'society'. They don't just think these things up - it's all from a well-rehearsed script.
Got to keep in time with those planetary movements, for one.

Jencks has done a lot of landform sculptures up here Anon 2. It might be interesting to "join the dots", so to speak.
ReplyDeletecheers
On viewing Jencks' website (www.charlesjencks.com), one can see the very materialistic order of nature that he tries to portray in his architecture - spirals, DNA, (masonic) black & white patterning showing extension of 2-D to 3-D forms.
ReplyDeleteAll very hum-drum, well known principles....it's what they are all taught via their connections or suggested directions of research.
I didn't see much of the spiritual in it all.....though, funnily enough, he does have a photograph of him in the Thematic House, in London, showing him with his right hand raised and pointing a fore-finger - all very druidic......his Northumberlandia landscape has the same hand position.
Also, in another of his website pages, he discusses his favourite painting, that of Akhenaten with his wife Nefertiti and their three daughters - i may be mistaken but his three daughters seem to be portraying also the same hand signalling as Northumberlandia - left hand open and right hand with pointing index finger.
In the text of the discussion of the painting, Akhenaten is described as being monotheistic as well as emphasising individuality.....hmmm, some massaging of messages/myths/truth there....i sense the 'pushing' of the Hermetic myth/(un)truth.
Also, his wife was the founder of the Maggie Cancer Care centres......now we are getting somewhere - he has been given this information and is wrapping it up in something edible for the 'public'.....that finger pointing is therefore distinct......will he display the real truth in future work ????

Jencks a member of a druidic order, i'd say ?

Pillars....foursquare room - the cube, the unhewn dolmen [Robert Graves] and the alphabets.....the four seasons/cycles.....the obligatory painting reference to Poussin......a table sitting 13 people/guests......mention of 52 and 365 (time-cycles - the dance of the sun & moon).......yes, a druid indeed !!
