Who cares ?

Gordon Brown was again today speaking in Davos at the World Economic Forum, and again it seems paving the way for a New World Order. From the BBC we read more, under the headline PM says "no clear map" for crisis:

Gordon Brown says there is no precedent for the "first financial crisis of the global age".

History offered "no clear map" of how to deal with it, the UK prime minister told an audience at the World Economic Forum in the Swiss resort of Davos. Mr Brown warned about the rising threat of protectionism and said that global co-operation was the only way forward.

"This is not like the 1930s. The world can come together," the prime minister said.
He told reporters: "This is the first financial crisis of the global age. And there is no clear map that has been set out from past experience to deal with it.

From an Irish "rebel" song:

We're on the one road, sharing the one load

We're on the road to God knows where

We're on the one road, it may be the wrong road
But we're together now who cares?

Building a roadbridge to Heaven ?

We read today from the BBC of how the new, third, bridge over the river Forth is being designed by a company called Arup, the same characters who created the Beijing Olympic "Bird's Nest" stadium.

In this instance however, they will be working in partnership with another company called Jacob, the resulting creative team to be called, wait for it, Jacobs Arup.

It requires noting that The Stone of Destiny is said to be the Biblical Jacob's
Pillow-Pillar Stone, the stone he used as a headrest whilst dreaming of a ladder to heaven. Readers may remember the symbolic slicing up of a cake replica by Alex Salmond and Sean Connery last June, as noted in my post King Conn, and should also be aware that the Queens husband Prince Philip's "secret" funeral arrangements are codenamed Forth Bridge ( see here)

Je-Rome Kerviel revisited

Today we saw our government unveil their latest plan to deal with the "global credit crisis", i.e. further indebting future humanity, and as such shares in banking institutions plummeted, the Royal Bank of Scotland's by an astonishing 67%, thus leaving them at 33% of this morning's value.

What seems curious to me is that today, as in America's Martin Luther King Monday holiday, is the anniversary of the Jerome Kerviel scandal - when his employers, Societe General, offloaded vast amounts of stock, causing massive declines in worldwide stock markets.

From my post of last January,
Give 'em enough rope:

It seems that Jerome's job involved dealing in colossal sums of "money" in order to exploit microscopic fluctuations of share values in the stock market. It is, to a certain extent, irrelevant. What is relevant is that his employers, Societe Generale, sold vast quantities of Jerome's stock "holding" on Monday 21st January, thus forcing stock prices down in the bargain. America was holidaying that day and therefore not trading: as such the French bank was offloading to a half empty marketplace.

Thus, when the aforementioned economic rules of supply and demand are applied, we can see that there was less demand on the Monday because America was shut. Additionally, S. Generale had an astonishing £37 billion worth of Jerome's stock to unload in order to redeem his position, which increased the "supply" to the financial markets and thus reduced the share price accordingly.

Then on the Wednesday, the "fraud" seemingly as yet still not common knowledge, the Federal Reserve cut U.S. interest rates by 0.75%, the largest reduction for 26 years, citing the slump in stock market values as rationale.

Graph above is The Royal Bank's share price over the last year.

Just another coincidence ?

I can see the woods, and the trees

"I went out to the hazelwood,
Because a fire was in my head,"

W. B. Yeats

Another criminal curiosity of the cranium related variety has manifested itself in Scotland's capital city, a curiosity which ties in well with recent posts - although I confess the exact meaning eludes me, and I am therefore required to act on conjecture - whilst including a personal synchronicity which requires highlighting, but will alas perhaps mean little to readers and may indeed sound slight narcissistic. However, when in Rome...

Starting with reported "facts" , yesterday in the early hours of 17th January, a man was discovered, murdered, in Hazelwood Grove, The Inch, having been shot in the head - events of this nature being thankfully scarce up here, and thus fairly remarkable. It is likely that this assault was part of an ongoining fued between two rival gangs, one from the Inch, the other from Granton; the latter location links to the Hawthornvale head in a bag case in itself.

To begin, it is interesting to reflect upon the street name and scene of the incident, Hazelwood Grove, which sits just to the West of historical
Craigmillar Castle. From the wikipedia link:

In the 1820s, a plan was drawn up to lay out picturesque landscape gardens between Inch House and the castle, which would have incorporated "Queen Mary's Tree", a
Sycamore supposedly planted by Mary, Queen of Scots. Much of the woodland within the castle estate dates from the early to mid 19th century

Craigmillar Castle is best known for its association with
Mary, Queen of Scots. Following an illness after the birth of her son, the future James I of England, Mary arrived at Craigmillar on 20 November 1566 to convalesce. Before she left on 7 December 1566, a pact known as the "Craigmillar Bond" was made, with or without her knowledge, to dispose of her husband Henry Stuart, Lord Darnley.

Mary's colours, see recent posts for similar

Although the majority of this woodland is now chopped, rather like Queen Mary's head, we are left with the streeet name, Hazelwood Grove, and as such delve further into the mythology of the dowsers favorite tree. From Druidry.org/trees/hazel we glean deeper insight, this a very short fragment:

The hazel might be said to be the quintessential Celtic tree because of its legendary position at the heart of the Otherworld. Here, nine magic hazel-trees hang over the well of Wisdom and drop their purple nuts into the water. In some accounts, the hazel-nuts cause bubbles of "mystic inspiration" to form on the surface of the streams that flow down from the well; in others, the Salmon of Knowledge and Inspiration eat the nuts and send the husks floating downstream. Those that eat the nuts (or the salmon) gain poetic and mantic powers.

Moving on, readers will doubtless recall the tale of the mummified head found in an Ikea bag in Hawthornvale on New Years Eve (see here), but being quite honest I have refrained from writing any more until more is known, although, what has been established, is that the head once belonged to a lady called Heather Stacey and that a Mr Alan Cameron, aged 54, has been charged with various offences in connection with the remains, although not as yet murder. It should be pointed out that more body parts were found in the aforementioned Granton area of Edinburgh, the likely location of the abodes of the perpetrators of the Hazelwood shooting.

And this, my own personal story which is true, although I appreciate could be doubted:

Yesterday morning, just before midday, I myself travelled to the Inch to make acquaintance with a friend. Knowing nothing of the shooting I took my usual route until, finding it blocked with police tape, I was forced to take a small diversion through the estate. When I arrived at the house a young lady was present and I was politely introduced, before being told of the shooting I hasten to add, and asked if I remembered her. I did, albeit vaguely, and as such was reminded she was the daughter of another. alas seldom seen, long acquainted friend.

Now, this young lady was a few years ago in a romantic relationship with a ruffian, a proverbial bad egg. The individual concerned, known ever-after as the grave robber, was charged and convicted of the ancient offence of violating a sepulchre after breaking into a tomb in Bobby the faithful dog famed Greyfriars Kirkyard, cutting off the head of a corpse and playing with it. From the BBC,
Youths guilty of tomb violation:

The pair had forced open the Mackenzie Mausoleum, where Sir George Mackenzie, a former Dean of the Faculty of Advocates, was laid to rest after his death in 1691, on 30 June 2003.

Mackenzie was a prosecutor for Charles the Second and earned the nickname "Bluidy Mackenzie" for vigorously pursuing Covenanters whom he had tortured to gain confessions.

The court heard that they played with the head like it was a "trophy".

However, they were acquitted of allegations that they forced open the coffin and simulated oral ex with the severed head.

Thus, given the above, and even excluding my own experience, I am drawn yet again to heads, to Royalty, and to, surely salmon of wisdom eating, Nostradamus:

Dark Night

Again as with my previous post going back to just before Christmas and the discovery of the severed mummified head in an Ikea bag, I highlighted a trilogy of almost simultaneous fires in the Edinburgh area on the night of the 20th, the most spectacular being that in the Indian restaurant Khushi's, part of an old church in Edinburgh and just a few yards from the historic Knights Templar lands. ( see Babylon Burns - Baphomet Rises)

What I was totally unaware of at the time was that the basement part of the building, The Liquid Rooms, was hosting glam-rock act The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, who were set to hit the stage just as the inferno ignited.

Today they were finally allowed to visit the venue in order to ascertain damage to their equipment and instruments which, unfortunately, are ruined through smoke and water damage. (BBC report here)

What strikes me though, perhaps in the light of Heath Ledger's posthumous Golden Globe award for playing the Joker in Batman movie The Dark Knight, is their last double album, live and titled Zalvation, released in 2006, and pictured above.

The first side includes the tracks Midnight Moses (him of burning bush fame) and Isobel Gowdie, an infamous Scottish lady who confessed to witchcraft back in 1662. (wikipedia Isobel Gowdie).

The first track on the second CD is called - Give My Compliments To The Chef.

It should be noted that in Scotland the longest, or darkest, night of the year is normally the 21st of December, although this varies by a day in a leap year.

A fishy tale

Just before Christmas and the appearance of the horned and bearded Baphomet I highlighted the unusual choice of festive card for this,
the homecoming year, by Scottish National Party (SNP) top-boy Alex Salmond (see here), whilst insinuating pictorially that perhaps the boats sailing into MacDuff harbour were more a reflection on the arrival of the Knights Templar and subsequent freemasonic movement spawning, rather than the advertised Robert Burns or golf.

Today these accusations again seem justified, certainly numerically, as we initially read a brace of finance related Scottish news stories, the first today from the BBC concerning the SNP's budget for next year, a top level freemason degree resonating 33 billion pounds, to be spent on a variety of projects: energy parks, the Edinburgh "bio-quarter", transport and affordable housing - whilst "supporting" 4,700 jobs.

Secondly, we note, again from the BBC today, that although capital city Edinburgh was itself allocated an extra £3.5 million from this budget, they actually asked for more:

It is the first time the city's special role has been recognised, however it is only about a tenth of the £33m Edinburgh City Council asked for.

From those two, we change angle to another report on what seems a different topic. Again fresh from the BBC today, under the headline Salmon angling trophy resurrected:

The Malloch Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the angler catching the heaviest salmon of the season.

The solid silver model of a leaping salmon was first awarded in 1972 for a 43lb fish caught on the Tweed.

A combination of a withdrawal of sponsorship and stringent conservation measures led to the ending of the competition in 1999.

That year, an angler who caught a 33lb salmon on the Spey was awarded the trophy.

Yet this latter story in fact clarifies the first two. For if we crunch the first stated number, the £33billion or £33,000,000,000, to be spent in one year by the government of a country with a population of 5 million people of all ages, then this equates to £6,000 being spent for every person. Given the average wage up here is maybe £22,000 and that not all individuals work, it is safe to assume that the majority of this spending is to be financed by national borrowing.

Thus, when Scotland is eventually officially bankrupt, probably around 2012 and the apparent commencement of the Age of Aquarius (following Pisces, the fish), a saviour will come to help, to bail out our nation and, as such, to hold our children and their children in everlasting debt. Almost like they are being farmed.

No bones about it, the salmon, the King of fish.

You have been horned

We perused the subject of Prince William being the Templar's Baphomet last month and note from this week that he and brother Harry are to receive a joint "household", or office, based in St James' Palace.

As such, they are also now using their own ciphers (as pictured above) on letters, documents and suchlike, Wills', the W, being red like his father and granny, whilst Harry's is blue, like Princess Diana's.

As some may be aware, Baphomet wears an inverted pentagram; thus in similar fashion, I have inverted the cipher (as above) which seems, perhaps coincidentally, to look remarkably like a pair of horns. I leave it to readers to judge although it should be noted that in the BBC report on the matter, they have again chosen the strange "Omen shadow" photograph (as below) taken on Christmas Day as an illustration.

You would think they could find a "better" one, although I suppose it depends on their purpose.

Underneath the Arches

More details of the light drenched Scottish Homecoming faux Robert Burns and golf year long event were revealed today via the BBC under the headline Bright start ready for Homecoming:

A Burns night lantern procession will kick off Homecoming 2009 celebrations in the town where the poet is buried.

The Burns Light evening on 25 January is a key part of a programme of events in Dumfries and Galloway

Four processions through Dumfries will go past its Midsteeple, Burns House, Devorgilla Bridge and St Michael's Church where the poet was laid to rest.

Referring back to just my last post, readers will recall the Picardy Place/Picard angle noted after the Luna nightclub fire, or burning, and this seems again highlighted when we dive a little deeper into the Devorgilla Bridge aspect; as noted from it's wikipedia entry:

The first bridge over the Nith, Devorgilla Bridge, named after Devorgilla, the mother of King John Balliol, was built here in 1432. Rebuilt more than once and shortened from the east in the 19th century, this is still used by pedestrians and is one of Scotland's oldest standing bridges.

King John Balliol or John the 1st of Scotland, born at an unknown location, yet of the three suggested in wikipedia one is Picardy, and this certainly being the location where he died some thirteen years after being released by Pope Boniface the Eighth into who's custody he was directed by Edward 1st of England after imprisonment in the Tower of London during the Wars of Scottish Independence.

Sounds of Blackness

Ten ten till we do it again ?

Whilst the mummified head still tops the headlines up here, albeit minus the Baphomet angle, there have been several other perhaps synchronistically matched incidents pointing towards a Templar/Freemason connection with the 2009 Scottish year of Homecoming over the Hogmanay period, two which are well worth noting in the light of recent previous posts.

We start with a nightclub fire, one thankfully not on the same scale as that in Thailand. Just after the bells chimed in the New Year at midnight, indoor pyrotechnics set fire to plastic netting on the ceiling of the establishment, causing approximately 400 individuals to be evacuated, with three slightly injured. See Fireworks cause fire at nightclub

The venue, Luna (previously known as Ego) nightclub in Picardy Place, central Edinburgh. Now this is uncanny because I checked wikipedia for the source of the name Picardy, a literally war ravaged region of France, and details seem rather sketchy:

Whimsical enough is the origin of the name of Picards, and from thence of Picardie, which does not date earlier than AD 1200. It was an academical joke, an epithet first applied to the quarrelsome humour of those students, in the University of Paris, who came from the frontier of France and Flanders. (Chapter LVIII - Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire)

I then checked the Online Etymology Dictionary in hope of clarification, and it throws up three different references for this word, the first being (say what you see - Catchphrase) rebus, as indirectly noted in my last post.:

1605, from L. rebus "by means of objects," ablative plural of res "thing, object," perhaps principally from the phrase de rebus quæ geruntur "of things which are going on," in reference to the satirical pieces composed by Picardy clerks at carnivals, subtle satires of current events using pictures to suggest words, phrases or things. Or it may be from the representations being non verbis sed rebus "not by words, but by things."

The next being recruit:

1635, "to strengthen, reinforce," from obsolete Fr. recruter (17c.), from recrute, Picardy dialect variant of recrue "levy," lit. "new growth," from O.Fr. recreu, pp. of recreistre "grow or increase again," from re- "again" + creistre "to grow," from L. crescere "to grow" (see crescent).

Skipping the last, although it is worth linking to, and bearing in mind as previously stated, my previous post about the aforementioned mummified head and Ian Rankin, it must be noted that Rankin's fictional detective is named Rebus, and his assistant Gill Templar,. Furthermore, we did indeed see a waxing and fresh, crescent moon on the night of the 31st. Notwithstanding that, confirmation is verified via Luna - the Roman goddess of the moon - nightclub. From the same above source, for lunar:

"of or pertaining to the moon," 1626, from O.Fr. lunaire, from L. lunaris "of the moon," from "moon," (with capital lunaL-) "moon goddess," from *leuksna- (cf. O.C.S. luna "moon," O.Pruss. lauxnos "stars," M.Ir. luan "light, moon"), from the same source as lux, lumen "light."

Make of that what you will, it seems relatively clear to me - kraft by some unseen hand is my best bet - thus we move on to another happening, and another rare find it appears (it's like the antiques roadshow), the discovery of architectural drawings of the Palace of Holyrood House on a path at Roseburn, again in Edinburgh, by a lady out walking her dog. From the BBC, headline Security breach at Scots palace we glean more:

The drawings, with an accompanying letter, were found by the Daily Record newspaper's agony aunt, Joan Burnie, as she took her Jack Russell terrier Polly for a walk.

She told the paper: "Polly saw them underneath a bush on the path and came out with the plans in her mouth.

"I took them from her to see what they were and that's when I saw the letter. "I was shocked to see the plans were for Holyroodhouse."

Mmm, bit dodgy maybe, an agony aunt with the initials JB (think freemason, think tracing board, think chequerboard, think pillars) and the surname Burnie (think fire, think year of Homecoming, think Robert Burns) happens to find plans for the Queen's official Scottish residence in Rose-burn. The dog's bollocks is my opinion, and again, like the discovery of the mummified head, it is worth stating that there are numerous old railway lines in the Roseburn area
although most are now paths. Bearing in mind James Shelby Downard as noted in my previous post. Also, bushes don't grow on paths, if they did it would no longer be a path, it would be a bush. Until Moses appeared..

And of Polly, a dog of the breed originally bred by Parson Jack Russell for catching rats and thus beloved of Archibald Pelago :

fem. proper name, a rhyming collateral form of Molly, pet form of Mary.

To close, we stick with the freemasons and return to France by virtue of quoting Gods of Eden - Knights' New Dawn, where we read of the historic Scottish rooted global slave race expansion, otherwise known as Old McDonald's Farm. Note, you really need to read the whole chapter to fully understand, to see the light (apologies if you already do):

Scotland has long been an important center of Masonic activity. The earliest of the old Masonic guilds in Scotland had been founded at Kilwinning in 1120 A.D. By 1670, the Kilwinning Lodge was already practicing speculative Freemasonry (although, in name, it was still an operative lodge).

The Stuarts themselves joined Ramsey’s organization. James III adopted the Templar title “Chevalier St. George.” His son, Charles Edward, was initiated into the Order of Knights Templar on September 24, 1745, the same year in which he led a major Jacobite invasion of Scotland. Two years later, on April 15, 1747, Charles Edward established a masonic “Scottish Jacobite Chapter” in the French city of Arras.

Arras, via wikipedia:

The historic centre of the Artois region, its local speech is characterized as a Picard dialect.

Picard, as in Picardy, as in Luna once Ego, as in burning net.

As in the sound of synchronicity?

cheers

All at sea

If you're fond of sand dunes and salty air,
quaint little villages here and there.

From wikipedia, Hogmanay:

The roots of Hogmanay perhaps reach back to the celebration of the winter solstice among the Norse, as well as incorporating customs from the Gaelic New Year's celebration of Samhain. In Europe, winter solstice evolved into the ancient celebration of Saturnalia, a great Roman winter festival, where people celebrated completely free of restraint and inhibition. The Vikings celebrated Yule, which later contributed to the Twelve Days of Christmas, or the "Daft Days" as they were sometimes called in Scotland. The winter festival went underground with the Protestant Reformation and ensuing years, but re-emerged near the end of the 17th century.

As we moved into 2009, the Scottish year of Homecoming, massive crowds paid to ritually gather round Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile and Walter Scott's Monument to see in the bells and watch (depending on how much one paid) headlining act Groove Armada and others perform in Princes Street Gardens, once the Nor Loch.

Yet earlier, in the morning of Hogmanay, a gruesome discovery fit for any Ian Rankin novel was made within the city, a mummified head wrapped in a plastic bag.

From the BBC:

A human head found in a bag in Edinburgh is that of an adult who may have died between five and 10 years ago, according to police. The remains, which appeared to be mummified, were discovered by a woman walking along a footpath at Hawthornvale, Leith, at about 1030 GMT.

More precisely, Hawthornvale is part of Newhaven, once a small fishing village, itself now part of the metropolis that is Edinburgh, the Athens of the North; whilst the name Hawthornvale means, literally, the valley of the hawthorns. The footpath, itself an old disused railway line.

From Newhaven Village website:

Newhaven, nestling between the ports of Leith and Granton, is one of Edinburgh's coastal villages. It was absorbed into Edinburgh in 1920 as part of a 33 square mile expansion.

Newhaven was a microcosm of the ‘Disruption’ in the Church of Scotland of 1843 in which 450 ministers seceded to form a new denomination (the Free Church of Scotland) over issues of State control and patronage to which they objected.

James Shelby Downard:

Because Masonry is obsessed with earth-as-gameboard (tessellation) and the ancillary alignments necessary to facilitate the "game," it is inordinately concerned with railroads

The hawthorn, a tree surrounded by ancient mythology and legends, certainly significant to our ancestors, as we glean from various sources, including:

From In Worship of Trees:

The Hawthorn tree (Crataegus oxyacantha) is one of the sacred trees of Wicca and Witchcraft.

In Irish folklore the Hawthorn is sometimes referred to as the fairy bush, due to the belief that fairy spirits inhabit the tree as guardians

An early Christian legend about the Hawthorn begins with the death of Christ and the myths surrounding the Holy Grail. Christ’s uncle was Joseph of Arimathea, who according to the Gospels of the New Testament was a rich Jew and a member of the Sanhedrin, the ancient Jewish court in Jerusalem. According to old Cornish legends he was also a tin merchant who traded with miners on the west coast of Britain. On one of his trading journeys he brought along his nephew, the boy Jesus and together they made a pilgrimage to the Holy Isle of Avalon.

As the legend has it, during the crucifixion Joseph collected some of the blood of Jesus in a goblet (one used during the Last Supper and known as the Holy Grail), and hid it in a tomb. Years later Joseph returned to Avalon bringing the Holy Grail with him. When he moored his boat on Wearyall Hill and stepped ashore, he planted his staff in the ground where it took root and blossomed into a Hawthorn tree, known today as the Glastonbury Thorn. This was taken as a sign that Christianity would flourish in England and so Joseph built the first Christian church in Britain at Glastonbury. Somewhere nearby he also hid the Holy Grail, which has never been found since.

and here:

Christianization did not deter British fondness for hawthorn magic. The Burning Bush seen by Moses was said to have been a hawthorn. The crown of thorns on the head of Jesus was a hawthorn wreath, a myth that lent itself to hawthorn's oldest divine associations with Death & equally with Life.

Of course, decapitated heads and Holy Grails also feature prominently, and perhaps contradictorily given the above, in the legends of the freemasonic secret society founding Knights Templars, some saying they themselves carried the grail for safekeeping, along with the decapitated head of John the Baptist
.

We move back to Edinburgh author Ian Rankin, his 13th book "Resurrection men", a name applied to those who engage in the practice of body-snatching.

And close with freemason Burns:

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind ?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o' lang syne ?
